It’s that time again – the New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra (NASO) Conductor Search Committee is seeking conductors for the upcoming 2025-2026 season. The Committee will meet in March 2025 to consider conductors for any guest conducting slots in future seasons. Our process continues through Spring with final decisions by mid-May 2025.
Prospective Timeline:
March 1 – Submission Deadline due for Prospective Conductors Mid to End-March – Search Committee Candidate Review Mid-April – Recommendation to the Board End-April – Prospective conductors notified Mid-May – Discussion on programming/dates
Founded in 1976, New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra is proud to continue its mission to provide emerging conductors and artists with the coveted opportunity to perform in New York City with a full symphony orchestra.
NASO has weekly rehearsals, so conductors need to be available in Manhattan every Wednesday evening for approximately 8 consecutive weeks. Concerts are typically on a Friday evening with dress rehearsals on Tuesday & Wednesday the week of the concert. For information on the orchestra, please visit: www.nasorch.org/about
